Business and Education Collaboration on Minorities in Education (BECOME)


The Kent Campus Office also administers all federal financial aid programs for the seven Regional Campuses of Kent State University. Please include the Federal School Code for the Kent State campus you plan to attend, listed in the table to the right, on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Awarded to an education major. Requisites: 3.0+ high school GPA; 2.75+ college GPA; if applicable, 3.0 graduate GPA; work in the Akron Public Schools (APS) for each year that this award is received if possible. Upon graduation, APS has the right of first refusal to hire BECOME recipients. Financial aid must be repaid if recipient does not complete education degree or commitment to APS.
